J.P.

J.P. knew somehow some way he would be involved in sports at a very young age as he grew up watching the Atlanta Braves and Florida State Seminoles with his dad. He, however, is a huge Oregon Ducks and Tennessee Titans fan. J.P. played basketball, baseball, and football in high school, and took that to the next level playing for the baseball team at UWF, until transferring to the University of Mobile. As a pitcher, he was 7th in school history in ERA and 4th in appearances. He graduated from Mobile with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences. After college, J.P. coached for a few years until he started covering high school football for WEAR/WFGX and was a color commentator for Friday Night Rivals on WFGX, where he partnered with the now-Cincinnati Reds announcer, Tommy Thrall. J.P. has also been a commentator on Blab TV for high school and college basketball. He gives all the credit to WEAR Channel 3’s-own Dan Shugart for inspiring him to pursue broadcasting and teaching him so much. J.P. enjoys spending time with family, as well as playing men’s league softball, but loves anything in the community that involves sports. Being born in Pensacola, J.P. has seen Pensacola continue to grow and is excited to reach out to those who share his same passions. J.P. is a producer and co-host here at ESPN Pensacola. You can catch him on Talk Football with Coach Kay from 12-1p as well as on the SportsDrive with Chad Brillante from 5-7p.
